Damien Comolli gör sitt yttersta för att hålla panikkänslan nere inför januari.
”If it can be done in January, great,” sa Comolli till BBC Sport. ”If it can’t because we feel it is the wrong market or players are overpriced, then we will wait.”
Han tillade: ”I’m not going to say we won’t do anything in January because that is not the idea at the moment.
”We will do what is right for the long term. What is right for the long term can be something we do in January. We have a pretty good idea of what we would like to do and we have identified targets.”
Vidare betonar Comolli att John W Henry och Tom Werner kommer att dra sitt strå om toppklasspelare kommer på marknaden: ”If there’s a possibility of us getting a world-class player, we will have the backing. John and Tom want to win – and you win with top players. The big thing is making sure the academy produces players for the first team,” sa Comolli.
”The club’s not in a bad state. We’ve had some great results. It’s not in ruins. Everything is there to be successful. We have to win and bring back trophies. For a club this size, it’s not about top six or top four – we must win everything that’s winnable,” fortsatte han.

West Bromwichs yttermittfältare Chris Brunt har ingenting emot att tidningarna hävdar att Liverpool är intresserade av hans tjänster.
“Liverpool haven’t had a great start to the season and it’s easy to link people, but obviously it’s nice to be linked with a club like that,” sa Brunt till Belfast Telegraph.
“It shows I must be doing my job right for West Brom. I am enjoying my football at the minute and I’m happy with my form.
“For a club like Liverpool to be linked is flattering, but I am enjoying playing for West Brom.
“You always want to better yourself as a player. If I was to do well enough at West Brom to get myself a move to a bigger club and progress my career that’d be great. We’re moving in the right direction, though, and I am probably playing as well as I have done in my career.”

De senaste dagarna har den nyblivna landslagsmannen Jay Bothroyd fått enormt mycket uppmärksamhet av engelsk media.
Nu skriver The Daily Star att Chelsea är intresserade av 28-åringen, men att Londonklubben möjligtvis kan stöta på hård konkurrens, då fem andra PL-klubbar också ryktas vara ute efter Bothroyd. Dessa är Liverpool, Fulham, Aston Villa, Everton samt Arsenal. Eftersom Bothroyd blir kontraktslös efter säsongen bör han finns tillgänglig för en mindre summa i januari.
