Idag var – eller rättare sagt är – en mycket ovanlig dag i Liverpool. Idag är en dag då alla höga höns i klubben är lyckliga.

Benitez öser beröm över Purslow, som svarar med att ösa på lika mycket beröm över Benitez.

Purslow säger att Liverpool är den populäraste klubben i världen och att man vill vara nummer ett.

“I’m not embarrassed to say we are Liverpool Football Club – the most famous football club in the world”, säger Purslow till Liverpool Echo. 

“We’re not interested in being second best or third best – and I think this is an example off the park where we are going to be best in class.

“We are not going to be specific about figures but what we are happy to say is that it’s an enormous increase on our existing shirt deal – a multiple of that.

“In the broadest sense of the word it’s almost certainly the best shirt sponsorship deal out there in the market today.”

Dalglish verkar också lyrisk över det nya sponsoravtalet.

”Like every other Liverpool fan, I want the best assets of this club to be on the pitch – and this deal will help that,” säger King Kenny till Liverpoolfc.tv.
