Ett transferrykte hittas uppe i Newcastle, där lokaltidningen The Evening Chronicle uppger att Rafa Benitez vill låna in Danny Ings i januari – och att Liverpool är villiga att låna ut honom. Loan race on, alltså.

Joe Gomez har spelat på alla platser i backlinjen de senaste åren. Nu bekräftar Gomez det som vi alla tror, dvs att han kommer att bli mittback på sikt: “Ideally I want to end up as a centre-back. That’s where I think I can progress the most and develop to be the best I can be. But I enjoy playing at full back and it’s helped me with my development to this point. For me being a young player getting regular games, regardless of the position, I’m just happy to be able to learn. But I do see myself moving inside towards centre-half and hopefully playing most of my career there,” sa Gomez.

På följdfrågan om Jürgen Klopp delar Gomez uppfattning om hans långsiktiga position svarade ynglingen: “Yes, I believe so. I think with injuries opportunities have come to play at full back. But while I’m here I will just focus on wherever the manager wants me to play. I’m happy to play wherever, whether it’s full back of centre half. I will adapt to whatever he wants and I’m happy to do so.”

Gareth Bale har haft en omtumlande tid i Real Madrid. Det är oklart om han blir kvar där på sikt, men oavsett vilket vet Ian Rush vart han vill se sin landsman: “Gareth Bale is a world class player – every club in the world would want him,” sa Rush till The Mirror och fortsatte: “Any English club would want Gareth Bale. I’d love to see him at Liverpool though. A world class player.

“We don’t know what will happen, but it would be great to see him back here [in the Premier League] and at Liverpool.”

Mohamed Salah hyllas som en av säsongens bästa värvningar. Senast i hyllningskören är Robbie Fowler: “Certainly the signing of Mo has probably been one of the signings of the Premier League so far,” sa Fowler till ESPN och tillade: ”With the pace he’s got he’ll have chances all day and he needs to keep up the good form because he’s important for Liverpool.”
