This is Leeds’ first season in Premier League for many years, how has it been to be back?
Lucy: It’s incredible to be back and has definitely been a long time coming! The only downside is that us fans have not been able to experience it! I have never been to a Premier League match so I can’t wait to be back in the stadium with the rest of the fans because the atmosphere will be electric!
Are you satisfied with what the team has achieved so far this season?
Lucy: I am extremely happy with the way the team has performed so far this season! It has definitely been a rollercoaster of a season but we have had some absolutely cracking results including the massive 2-1 win against Manchester City last weekend This season was all about enjoying it after being away for 16 years, but now that we are mathematically safe and keep our place in the league for next season, we can enjoy it even more now and hopefully we can keep climbing the table!
Marcelo Bielsa is of course an important person for Leeds, what has he meant to your club?
Lucy: I absolutely adore him! He has changed the club so much, not just on the pitch, but also off the pitch too! He has brought the team together and you can see how much love and respect they have for each other which is brilliant to see! We are so lucky to have him as a manager and I never want him to leave!
Which players have impressed you the most at Leeds this season?
Lucy: There have been so many players in the squad that have been so impressive this season, especially as it is such a big step up from the Championship! Patrick Bamford – He has scored 14 goals so far this season which is a massive achievement and I can definitely see him getting on the scoresheet a few more times before the end of the season Kalvin Phillips – He has been outstanding and it’s so great to see someone who is Leeds born and bred do so well for both his club and country! I was so delighted when he was called up for the England squad at the beginning of the season and I can definitely see him on the plane for the Euro’s in the summer! Stuart Dallas – I have no words to describe him. He has definitely been my player of the season at the club. We call him ‘Mr Reliable’ because no matter where you play him he will always do a brilliant job! He thoroughly deserved the two goals that he scored against Manchester City last weekend and all of us Leeds fans absolutely love him!
Where do you think the team needs to strengthen next season?
Lucy: I think the left back position is something we need to look at and I think we will definitely be bringing someone in for next season Another midfielder player would also be ideal and maybe even a striker who can challenge Bamford and give him a bit of competition in the starting line up.
Former Leeds-player James Milner still plays in important role at Liverpool, what are your thoughts on him?
Lucy: I’m too young to remember when he played for Leeds United but what I have seen from videos and when my mum and dad talk about him, he was a great player for Leeds and will always have a place in fans hearts He definitely still plays a really important role at Liverpool, whether he starts the game or comes on as a substitute.
What kind of game do you think we can expect on Monday?
Lucy: I am really looking forward to the game on Monday, especially off the back of the win against Manchester City last weekend! I think it will definitely be end-to-end like it was in the first game of the season I think we have a really good chance of picking up at least a point, especially with the form that we are in and we are full of confidence right now! My prediction for the game is 2-2!
