Nyligen snackade Benitez med media och det verkar som att det inte blir några fler jättestora övergångar, vilket givetvis fullständigt utesluter en värvning av t.ex Franck Ribery.

Benitez sa följande:

”I will be really pleased if we can keep this squad together because I don’t think we need to do too many things,” said Benitez.

”I don’t think we’ll be signing anyone else for big, big money, just maybe the ones who can fit into our team.

”Right now we are just thinking of improving the fitness of the players, not thinking about the transfer market.

”We have the quality there and we will have our chances again.”

Benitez är med andra ord ytterst angelägen om att behålla ”jagade” spelare såsom Xabi Alonso och Javier Mascherano. Däremot verkar Alvaro Arbeloa vara på väg bort.

”We offered him an extension before, but if you have an idea and the agent has another one, you have to find solutions,” sa Benitez om Arbeloa.

Enligt The Mirror kommer Arbeloa att gå till Real Madrid för £6 miljoner.

Förhoppningsvis kan Benitez fynda några unga spelare som inte är så dyra. Nicolas Lodeiro? James McCarthy? Ja, den som lever får se.
