Den unga anfallaren Saido Berahino var en ryktenas man innan januarifönstret – men i slutändan blev han kvar i WBA.

Berahino gör ingen hemlighet av att han vill söka sig till en större klubb framöver. U21-landslagsmannen sa nyligen till Sky Sports: ”If I can keep them in the Premier League and score as many goals as I can, I’m pretty sure the fans wouldn’t mind me pushing on and moving on to bigger things.

”So I want to ensure that I keep them first in the Premier League and score as many goals as I can for them.”

Tony Pulis verkar dock inte tycka att Berahino är redo: “I think Saido has a long way to go,” sa Pulis enligt The Mirror.

“I don’t think he is in that bracket yet, he has a long way to go. Kane looks as though he is a lad who has bitten the arm off to get that chance and he is not going to let it go.

”That is what you want and you want players to have that desire and commitment.”

Pulis menar alltså att Spurs succéspelare Harry Kane är bättre för tillfället.

Som ett brev på posten skriver The Telegraph att WBA är beredda att strunta i fortsatta kontraktsförhandlingar med Berahino och att klubben har tröttnat på hans attityd. De uppges vara villiga att sälja honom om ett bud på mer än £20 miljoner kommer i sommar.

Vidare uppger tidningen att Liverpool och Tottenham har ryktats vara intresserade av Berahino – men att ingen klubb budade på honom i januari.
