1. What do we need to know about the club Plymouth Argyle?
Plymouth Argyle play in League Two, England’s fourth division. They suffered back-to-back relegations between 2009-11 after going through administration. The club had ambitions of playing in the Premier League but this collapsed and the club were relegated twice. After a few seasons in League Two, twice surviving relegation for a third time the club stabilised and now with Derek Adams in charge they will look to gain promotion after losing last year’s Play-Off final to AFC Wimbledon at Wembley.

2. Tell us a bit about the season so far, are you satisfied?

Argyle have spent the majority of their season top of League Two with back-to-back defeats at the start of their season being directly followed by a streak of 14 games unbeaten which meant that the club were seven points clear at the top of the division. Three straight defeats dented those chances as sides like Carlisle and Doncaster catching up. A hard-fought 2-0 home win over the latter a few weeks ago has seen the club steady themselves back into position. At the moment things are going well but it’s going to be tough to maintain our position as the club found out last campaign.

3. What had been the talking points around the club so far this season?

Consistency. Like last season the club began the season really well and sat top of League Two. Injuries kicked in and losses soon followed so many will be hoping that the same doesn’t happen this season with promotion the expectation around the club.

4. How would you describe the way you play?

The manager, Derek Adams usually plays in a 4-2-3-1 formation and contrary to most League Two clubs, Argyle have a passing philosophy. They mainly opt to keep the ball on the floor as opposed to the typical ’hoof-ball’ tactics that many League Two clubs go for. They will look to exploit gaps and aren’t afraid to hit a strike from range as attacking midfielder Graham Carey has shown on numerous occasions over the past one and a half seasons.

5. Which players are most important to your team?

Graham Carey in particular is probably the club’s biggest asset. With nine goals and eight assists from midfield he has once again proven himself as one of the best players in the division and if the club don’t manage to gain promotion again this season he will surely be joining a club at a higher level.

6. Do you have any interesting young players coming up
?
The club’s academy is still recovering from the administration period with the likes of Lloyd Jones (Liverpool), Sam Gallagher (Southampton) as well as Christian Walton and Craig Noone (Both Brighton) leaving the club for little or no money. The club are seeing youngsters come in such as defender Ben Purrington and many fans are optimistic about forward Luke Rooney after scoring twice, including a screamer, against Hartlepool on the final day of last season on his debut

7. What are your thoughts on Liverpool under Klopp?
I personally rate him very highly as a manager and it’s becoming clear he’s the man to bring the club forward. I enjoyed watching his Borussia Dortmund side when he was there and it’s clear he knows how to assemble great squads without spending too much money. The smart free transfer of Joel Matip and his knowledge of players, improving particularly the likes of Adam Lallana and Divok Origi show he can take the club places. They need a couple of defensive signings and a goalkeeper and then they’ll have a complete squad.
