Enligt de engelska tidningar har Hull City stora ekonomiska svårigheter.

Klubben har skulder på omkring £35 miljoner och inga direkta storspelare som kan säljas för tiotals miljoner pund styck.

Hulls ordförande Russel Bartlett har bekräftat att de befinner sig en prekär situation, men menar att de kan reda ut den.

Bartlett menar även att klubben måste sänka sina löneutgifter.

”We face a tough period to trade through the transitional period and readjust the business to life in the Championship, but I am confident we can do that,” sa Bartlett till Hull Daily Mail.

”We are presently preparing plans to trade through and within that process to significantly lower the wage bill and potentially to restructure other liabilities.

”A significant number of the player contracts contain step-down clauses in the event of relegation, coupled with five players coming out of contract or loan players returning to their clubs, which will help reduce the wage bill for playing staff to about £21million.

”We must now get down to concentrating on reducing the wage bill to about £15million in the Championship to establish financial viability and stability.”

Engelska tidningar, så som The Guardian, menar att dessa åtgärder är direkt nödvändiga för att Hull inte ska sättas under förvaltning och således dessutom börja nästa säsong med tio poängs poängavdrag.

Räkna med att Hull kommer att acceptera bud på många spelare. De har helt enkelt inget annat val, med tanke på sin ekonomiska situation.
